The Rottweiler

Did you know that the Rottweiler is one of the oldest breeds in the world? The ancient Romans used the Rottweiler as cattle herders and war dogs.

This dog’s temperament is obedient, loyal, protective, loving, and playful.

Rottweilers are calm dogs that love the family and are always on the lookout for strangers.

This breed requires early socialization and training to keep it obedient as it takes dominance very fast.

When training, ensure he recognizes you as an alpha of the pack and not him.  Be firm but gentle in your training, and give rewards for good behavior.

Rotties do not react kindly to harsh treatment; they will easily stand up for themselves, bringing out an aggressive side that you don’t want to see.

Rottweilers are active dogs that need lots of exercises and running around.  It is not advisable to keep this dog in an apartment unless you take it out for walks and playtime at the park daily.

The Great Dane

The Great Dane’s ancestors were originally from ancient Egypt, dating back to around 3000 BC.  This breed was later imported to Germany, where they have been for many years.

When they arrived in Germany, they were improved to hunt wild boars that were very dangerous in those times. The Great Dane was a great personal bodyguard due to its size, bravery, and smartness.

This dog’s temperament of being loyal, protective, noble, smart, caring, and loving is the reason why the nobles in Germany loved to keep them.

It is a very athletic dog that enjoys lots of playtimes outdoors, so having a big yard is advantageous.

The Weiler Dane – Rottweiler Mixed With Great Dane

The Weiler Dane is a handsome, muscular, powerful, and loving dog that needs a big yard to run around. This breed can also be strong alpha if training is not started early enough.  It will therefore need a strong, alpha parent who will be firm but gentle in training.

Most of the time, the Great Dane and Rottweiler are headstrong and stubborn, so be ready for some stubborn phases in the Weiler Dane’s lifetime.

However, with good training, those headstrong and stubborn times will disappear within a short time.

The Weiler Dane breed is also called the Great Rottie, Rottie Dane, Great Rottweiler Dane, and Rottweiler Great Dane mix.

Take your puppy to meet other puppies to help it socialize with them and spend time playing.   Also, introduce it to other humans in your life to know when to attack and when to be gentle around people.
